The Department of Physiology and Pharmacology was established in September 2025 as a result of further improving the scientific and educational processes of the former department and reorganizing academic disciplines according to specialization.
This step reflects the University’s strategic vision to further develop a modern medical education system that meets international standards and requirements.
Currently, the department comprises 2 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD), 2 Senior Lecturers, and 10 specialized faculty members, all actively engaged in academic and research activities.
The department provides modern educational programs designed to ensure that students acquire comprehensive foundational medical knowledge. The main academic disciplines include:
• Normal Physiology – The study of the vital activities of a healthy organism and the mechanisms underlying various physiological functions.
• Pathophysiology – The study of disease development mechanisms (pathogenesis), functional disorders, and compensatory reactions of the organism.
• Pharmacology – The scientific study of the effects of medicinal substances on the body, including their distribution, metabolism, mechanisms of action, and therapeutic application.
