The Department of Languages was established in September 2024 under Central Asian Medical University (CAMU) — an International Medical University. The University has been operating since October 3, 2022.
Head of the Department Shokirova Maxbuba Nazirgulomovna, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philology, Associate Professor.
The Department aims to train competitive, highly qualified, and ethically competent medical professionals through in-depth teaching of foreign languages, Latin, and medical terminology in medical education.

Main Objectives of the Department
• Teaching foreign languages, Latin, and medical terminology in medicine using modern methodologies;
• Developing students’ professional communicative competencies;
• Ensuring the integration of education, practice, and scientific research;
• Involving talented students in scientific activities;

Currently, the Department includes 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors, 1 PhD holder, 1 Senior Lecturer, 11 Specialist Lecturers.

The Department has established cooperation with the following institutions:

• Universities of the Republic of Türkiye
• Medical higher education institutions of Kyrgyzstan
• Tashkent State University of World Languages
In addition, within CAMU, cooperation is being developed with institutions from Belarus, Russia, the USA, Germany, Japan, India, and other countries.

Shokirova Makhbuba Nazirgu’lomovna was born on December 28, 1976 in Toshlok district, Fergana region. In 1998, she graduated from the Roman German faculty of Andijan State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages.
Currently, she is the head of the Department of “Languages” at CAMU International Medical University. Makhbuba Shokirova has more than 20 years of experience in teaching philology, French and Latin, and medical terminology. She has published scientific articles and theses in more than 60 international and republican scientific journals. At the same time, she has published 4 textbooks, 2 monographs, and 2 textbooks in 5 languages. She has published 4 articles in scientific journals included in the “Scopus” database.
