The Department of "Social Sciences and Physical Culture" was established in August 2023 at the Central Asian Medical University - International Medical University, which began operating on October 3, 2022. Currently, this department is headed by Eryigitova Lobarkhon Abdukodirovna.
Currently, there are 11 professors and teachers in the department, of which 2 are full-time doctors of philosophy (PhD) in sociology, 1 candidate of psychology, associate professor, 1 doctor of philosophy in history, associate professor, 1 doctor of philosophy in pedagogical sciences and 2 independent researchers, and 1 doctor of philosophy in psychology on a part-time basis.

The main task of the department
The main task of the department is to contribute to the formation of a strong and effective medical system, which is the main goal of a democratic state, as well as to train competitive personnel with deep knowledge and skills, high moral qualities, and to provide our country with worthy, highly qualified personnel by teaching them the main pre-clinical and clinical modules to become masters of their specialties.
If we pay attention to the field of medical education in developed countries, we can see the integration of education with the medical system. That is, education, practice, high-quality medical technology. On this basis, CAMU Medical University has signed cooperation agreements with Belarus, Russia, Germany, Turkey, and Korea.
It has been fulfilling the following tasks: systematically improving the professional qualifications and skills of teaching staff, establishing internships for teaching and research staff in foreign countries, strengthening the scientific potential of the department, further developing scientific research, promoting its integration with academic science, increasing the effectiveness of the scientific activities of the teaching staff, and attracting talented students and young people to engage in scientific activities.

Since this year, the department has achieved the following results:
• According to international indicators, the number of citations of the department`s teachers to publications is 85;
• More than 50 articles published in international scientific journals (journals included in the Web of Science, Scopus database and the OAK list), more than 70 abstracts at international scientific conferences;
• More than 80 articles published in republican scientific journals (OAK), more than 300 articles at republican international conferences and conferences.
• In the current 2025-2026 academic year, there are 5 monographs, 8 manuals, and 4 textbooks.
