General Medical Rehabilitation

The Residency Program in General Medical Rehabilitation is designed to train highly qualified specialists focused on restoring patients’ functional abilities after illness, injury, or surgery, improving their quality of life, and facilitating their return to active social participation. This specialty is based on a comprehensive approach that integrates medical, physical, and psychological rehabilitation. During the program, residents study rehabilitation principles for neurological, traumatic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and other conditions, including physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise, massage, mechanotherapy, occupational therapy, and modern restorative technologies. Training emphasizes individualized rehabilitation planning and functional assessment of patients. Clinical practice is conducted in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and specialized departments, where residents work within multidisciplinary teams and gain experience using advanced rehabilitation equipment and techniques. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical clinical application. Graduates are prepared to work in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, sanatoriums, sports medicine institutions, private clinics, and research organizations as medical rehabilitation specialists.
