Gayratjon Nabievich Rayimov

G‘ayratjon Nabievich Rayimov was born on January 18, 1960, in Nursukh village, Uzbekistan district of Fergana region, in a family of employees. In 1977, he graduated from secondary school with a gold medal and in 1984 completed his studies at the Faculty of General Medicine of Andijan State Medical Institute.
From 1984 to 1987, he worked as a surgeon at the Central District Hospital of Uzbekistan district, Fergana region. Between 1988 and 1993, he completed his clinical residency and postgraduate studies at the Department of Surgical Diseases with a course in Anesthesiology at Kharkiv Medical University under the supervision of Academician V.T. Zaitsev and Professor V.V. Boyko. In 1992, he successfully defended his Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD) dissertation and subsequently worked as a senior research fellow at the Department of Esophageal and Gastrointestinal Diseases at the Kharkiv Research Institute of Emergency General Surgery.
In 1996, he defended his Doctor of Medical Sciences (DSc) dissertation entitled: “Clinical and Experimental Justification of Complex Detoxification in Surgical Treatment of Patients with Non-Tumoral Mechanical Jaundice.” Since 1998, he has been actively engaged in academic and clinical work at the Fergana branch of Tashkent Medical Academy, serving as a professor of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, and Dean of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine. He also worked as a research fellow in abdominal surgery at the Fergana branch of the Republican Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Care. His research in hepatology has been widely recognized in scientific communities of Ukraine and Russia. From 2008 to 2011, by resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he served as Director of the II Medical College in Fergana, contributing significantly to strengthening the material and technical base, improving the quality of training of mid-level medical personnel, and enhancing primary healthcare services. Between 2010 and 2015, he was elected as a deputy of the Fergana Regional Council of People’s Deputies, actively participating in the Standing Commission on Socio-Cultural Development. From 2020 to 2023, he headed the Department of Faculty and Hospital Surgery at the Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health.
In 2023, for his outstanding achievements in scientific and educational-methodological activities, he was awarded the title of “Honorary Professor of the Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health” and received the badge “Best Teacher – 2023” for his contribution to the development of education and science within the CIS.
Doctor of Medical Sciences and highly qualified surgeon G.N. Rayimov is the author of more than 100 scientific publications, including 5 monographs, 3 inventions, and 5 methodological guidelines. He is also a board member of the Fergana branch of the Association of Emergency Medical Physicians of Uzbekistan.
