Department of International Student Affairs

The Department of International Student Affairs (ISA) is a key structural unit of the University, responsible for the admission, adaptation, and support of international students. The department plays an important role in integrating international students into the academic and social life of the University.

The department operates in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education,” decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, orders of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations, international agreements, as well as the University Charter and approved Regulations.

Main Purpose of the Department

To enhance the University`s international reputation, establish effective cooperation with foreign partners in education, science, and academic mobility, and create international opportunities for students and academic staff.

Main Functions of the Department:

  • establishing and developing cooperation with foreign higher education institutions, research centers, and international organizations
  • preparing and coordinating the implementation of bilateral and multilateral memorandums, agreements, and contracts
  • organizing academic mobility programs for students, master`s and doctoral students, and faculty members
  • providing information on international grants, scholarships, and projects, and assisting in their implementation
  • participating in the admission of international students and supporting their adaptation process
  • participating in the organization of international conferences, seminars, forums, and joint scientific events
  • coordinating the University`s participation in international rankings and accreditation processes
  • preparing analytical data and reports on the University`s international activities
  • The International Relations Department works closely with faculties, departments, and other structural units, contributing to the integration of Central Asian Medical University into the global educational space.

    Admission Process

    The admission process for international students at Central Asian Medical University is designed to be straightforward and supportive. Here are the key steps:

  • Submit Application: Submit the online application form with all required documents.
  • Document Verification: Our team reviews your academic qualifications and documents.
  • Receive Invitation Letter: Upon successful evaluation, you will receive an invitation letter.
  • Entrance Exam: Appear for the university entrance examination covering Biology, Chemistry, and English.
  • Visa Application: We provide comprehensive assistance with the visa application process.
  • Arrival & Enrollment: Travel to Fergana, complete registration, and begin your medical education journey.

    Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must not be below 17 years of age
  • Must have scored 50% or above in 12th grade (PCB subjects)
  • Reserved category (OBC/SC/ST): minimum 40% in 12th with PCB
  • Candidates from India must have cleared the NEET UG exam
  • NEET scorecard should not be older than 3 years
  • Required Documents

    To apply for admission to Central Asian Medical University, please prepare the following documents:

  • Valid international passport (minimum 2 years validity)
  • Secondary school certificate / diploma with transcripts
  • NEET scorecard (only for Indian students, not older than 3 years)
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • HIV test report
  • 12 passport-size photographs (white background)

    Curriculum

    The MBBS program at Central Asian Medical University follows an internationally recognized curriculum spanning 5 academic years plus 1 year of clinical internship. Below is the semester-wise subject breakdown. The medium of instruction is English, with Uzbek Language taught up to the 3rd year and German Language introduced in the 5th year (Medical German Part 1 & Part 2) to support clinical practice and international career mobility.

    Internship (6th Year) — Final Year Clinical Training

    The 6th year is dedicated to a comprehensive clinical internship program designed to prepare students for independent medical practice.

    Objectives of Internship Training

    At the end of training, the Intern shall be able to:

  • Diagnose clinically common diseases and make timely decisions for referral to higher level
  • Use discreetly the essential drugs, infusions, blood or its substitutes and laboratory services
  • Manage all types of emergencies — medical, surgical, obstetric, neonatal and paediatric
  • Demonstrate skills in monitoring of National Health Programmes and schemes
  • Develop leadership qualities to function effectively as a team leader
  • Render services to chronically sick and disabled patients
  • Render specific services to cases from tribal and backward regions

  • Compulsory daily log-book of all procedures done/assisted/observed
  • Cannot take more than 6 days leave at a time
  • Failure to produce log-book may result in cancellation of internship
  • If unsuccessful in any discipline, repeat posting for 30% of prescribed period

    Rules & Regulations by Country

    International medical graduates must comply with their home country`s regulations to practice medicine after completing their degree. Below are key requirements for students returning to their respective countries.

    India — National Medical Commission (NMC)

  • NEET Requirement: All Indian students must qualify NEET-UG before taking admission abroad. The scorecard must not be older than 3 years.
  • 54-Month Rule: The medical course duration must be at least 54 months of study followed by a 12-month internship.
  • NExT Exam (FMGE Replacement): Upon return, graduates must pass the National Exit Test (NExT) or the current FMGE screening test to obtain a license to practice in India.
  • University Recognition: The foreign university must be listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and approved by NMC.
  • Eligibility Certificate: Students must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from NMC before departing India.
  • NMC Gazette 2021: Students must ensure the university complies with the New NMC Gazette guidelines including minimum teaching hours, clinical rotations, and English-medium instruction.
  • Malaysia — Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)

  • Provisional Registration: Graduates must apply for Provisional Registration with MMC to undergo housemanship (clinical training) in Malaysia.
  • Recognized Qualification: The medical degree must be from a university recognized by the Malaysian government under the Second Schedule of the Medical Act 1971.
  • Housemanship: A 2-year compulsory housemanship must be completed before full registration and independent practice.
  • Qualifying Exam: If the university is not recognized, graduates must pass the MMC Qualifying Examination.
  • Egypt — Supreme Council of Universities (SCU)

  • Degree Equivalency: Foreign medical degrees must be evaluated and certified as equivalent by the SCU Equivalency Committee before practicing in Egypt.
  • Egyptian Medical Syndicate: Graduates must register with the Egyptian Medical Syndicate to obtain a license to practice.
  • Document Authentication: All academic documents must be attested by the Uzbekistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Embassy.
  • Internship: Additional supervised internship may be required as per SCU evaluation.
  • Important Note: Regulations and licensing requirements are subject to change. It is strongly recommended that students verify the latest requirements with their country’s medical regulatory body before and during their studies. CAMU and GlobalCircle Edu provide guidance, but students are responsible for complying with their own country’s rules.

    The CAMU International Students Association (ISA) is a student-led council that represents, supports, and unites international students at Central Asian Medical University. It acts as the official bridge between students, faculty, and the International Department — ensuring every student feels heard, safe, and at home in Fergana.
