In September 2025, the department was renamed the Department of Anatomy and Microanatomy. Initially, the Department of Normal and Topographic Anatomy was established in August 2024 under Central Asian Medical University – International Medical University, which began its activities on October 3, 2022. The first Head of the Department was Nishanov Yusuf Nishonovich.
Currently, the Department of Anatomy and Microanatomy is headed by Madaminov Sodiq Madaminovich.
At present, the department employs 1 Professor, 2 Senior Lecturers, 15 specialists, and 4 trainee assistants.

The main mission of the department
The main mission of the department - is to contribute to the development of a strong and effective healthcare system, which is one of the primary goals of a people-oriented state, as well as to train competitive specialists with profound knowledge, professional competence, and high moral values. Education is carried out through teaching fundamental pre-clinical and clinical modules to prepare highly qualified professionals who достойно represent the country.
The experience of developed countries demonstrates the integration of medical education with the healthcare system, where education and practice form the basis of high-quality medical technologies. In this regard, CAMU has signed cooperation agreements with institutions in Belarus, Russia, Germany, Türkiye, the Republic of Korea, and the United States of America.
Under the approved “Roadmap,” continuous professional development of academic staff is ensured, international internships are organized, the scientific potential of the department is strengthened, research activities are expanded and integrated with academic science, the effectiveness of faculty research is improved, and talented students are actively involved in scientific work.
International Relations
The department maintains regular cooperation with the following foreign institutions: Belarusian National Technical University (Republic of Belarus), Medical universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Research Activities and Areas
Scientific research is conducted in the following areas: Human Anatomy, Histology, Cytology and Fundamentals of Embryology, Clinical Anatomy (OXTA). Practical classes are organized for all modules and are equipped with modern instruments and facilities that meet contemporary standards.
