Surgery and clinical sciences

The Department of Surgery and Clinical Disciplines at Central Asian Medical University is one of the key academic and research units that integrates fundamental and clinical areas of medicine. The department is focused on training highly qualified medical professionals equipped with modern knowledge, strong clinical reasoning, and advanced practical skills.
The department is headed by Associate Professor Rayimov G‘ayratjon Nabiyevich, an experienced clinician and educator who plays a significant role in the development of academic and scientific activities. Under his leadership, the department активно implements innovative teaching approaches, including simulation-based training, clinical case analysis, problem-based learning (PBL), and digital education technologies.

Main Objectives of the Department

The primary objective of the department is to provide students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical competencies in surgery and clinical disciplines. Special emphasis is placed on developing clinical thinking, the ability to assess patient conditions holistically, establish accurate diagnoses, and select effective treatment strategies.
The department aims to integrate the latest medical advancements into the educational process, including minimally invasive surgical techniques, innovative diagnostic methods, digital healthcare solutions, and elements of artificial intelligence. Another key goal is to foster professional responsibility, medical ethics, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Courses and Disciplines

The department offers a broad and integrated curriculum covering both surgical and clinical disciplines. The training begins with general surgery, where students learn essential principles such as asepsis and antisepsis, basic surgical techniques, and patient management.
Further studies include clinical surgery, internal medicine, abdominal and thoracic surgery, as well as modern направления such as endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. Significant attention is also given to emergency medicine, traumatology, anesthesiology, and intensive care fundamentals. The educational process is designed to ensure an effective balance between theoretical knowledge and practical clinical training.

Research Activities

The department actively conducts scientific research aimed at improving diagnostic and treatment approaches in surgical practice. Key research areas include the development and implementation of minimally invasive techniques, reduction of postoperative complications, and enhancement of treatment outcomes.
In addition, research is being carried out on the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in clinical practice. Students are actively involved in research activities, including scientific clubs, conferences, and academic publications.

Clinical Base

The department collaborates with leading hospitals and specialized medical centers, providing students with hands-on clinical training in real healthcare settings. Students participate in diagnostic and treatment processes, observe surgical procedures, and improve their practical skills under expert supervision.

International Cooperation

The department actively develops international partnerships with foreign universities and medical institutions. These collaborations provide opportunities for students and faculty to participate in academic exchange programs, international conferences, internships, and joint research projects.

Academic Staff

The department’s academic staff consists of highly qualified professionals, including doctors of medical sciences, associate professors, and experienced practicing physicians. The head of the department, Associate Professor Rayimov G‘ayratjon Nabiyevich, actively contributes to the development of both educational and research activities.
Faculty members continuously improve their qualifications and incorporate modern teaching methods into the learning process.
