The main mission of the department is to train competitive specialists with modern knowledge and practical skills in infectious diseases and dermatovenereology, which play a crucial role in public health protection. The department aims to develop highly qualified professionals with strong ethical values and professional competence.
Special emphasis is placed on teaching students based on pre-clinical and clinical disciplines, providing in-depth knowledge on early diagnosis, effective treatment, and proper prevention of infectious, skin, and sexually transmitted diseases.
One of the department’s priority areas is strengthening the integration of education, scientific research, and practical medicine based on the experience of developed countries. For this purpose, cooperation has been established with foreign higher education and research institutions, professional development of faculty members is continuously supported, scientific research is enhanced, and modern diagnostic and treatment technologies are introduced into the educational process.
The department also actively involves talented students in scientific research, fostering independent thinking and clinical reasoning skills to prepare highly qualified specialists for the national healthcare system.

Khakimov Rakhmatillo Abdusalomovich was born in 1963 in the Okhunbobay district of the Fergana region. In 1984-1991, he graduated from the Second Tashkent State Institute of Sanitary and Hygiene.
He continued his work career in 1994-2003 at the Fergana City State Medical University. From 2003-2006, he was a teacher at the Fergana Institute of Public Health. From 2006-2018, he was a director at the 2nd Margilan Medical College. From 2020-2022, he was a teacher at the Fergana Institute of Public Health. From 2022-2025, he was the deputy dean of the Central Asian Medical University.
Since 2025, he has been working as the head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology.
